Chinese President Xi Jinping meets Nepali Prime Minister

China and Nepal should extend cooperation in all areas to a common destiny between the two countries, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in meeting with Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Beijing on Monday.

Xi said China and Nepal are close neighbors with friendship from generation to generation and engaged in cooperation in all areas.

Since the establishment diplomatic ties, both China and Nepal pursue common development on the basis of equality and mutual respects.

Xi stressed that China and Nepal should give a full play of role of high-level contacts and make sure that Sino-Nepal relations can development steadily on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

 Xi hoped both sides could push China's "Belt and Road" Initiative, speed up construction of China-Nepal free trade zone, and push post-disaster reconstruction and capacity cooperation. Xi also hoped the two sides can step up cooperation on roads and ports to improve connectivity level. China supports the two countries to carry out cooperation on energy, and will add favorable policies to it, Xi said.
