Buddha Air flight makes emergency landing at Biratnagar

An aircraft of Buddha Air made an emergency landing at Biratnagar airport on Friday after it experienced technical glitches in its engine.

The flight en route to Kathmandu from Bhardrapur airport land at Biratnagar airport this afternoon, it is learnt.

Details to follow…Flashback to four years ago: this week in 2011 was a blow to the aviation industry in Nepal. Buddha Air, arguably the best airline in Nepal—both in terms of passenger safety and fleet type, went through its first-ever plane crash. On September 25, 2011, a Buddha Air mountain flight crashed into the hills of Lalitpur inside Kathmandu valley. The crash killed all 19 people on board (16 passengers and 3 crew).
